Alan Nixon Seeks Re-Election in District of North Vancouver

Campaigning under the banner of “Council Continuity”, Alan Nixon has announced he will be seeking his second term on District Council. A campaign in which he says it is “important that an incumbent seek re-election in order to provide some level of continuity in District affairs”. Nixon adds, “with a minimum of four Council positions open in the November 19th civic election”…. “the lack of experience could cause severe disruption and delays in attending to Council business.”

According to his press release, Nixon feels strongly that he be allowed to continue to contribute meaningfully to Council dialogue and the many serious challenges facing the District as it looks forward in the mid and long term. In that same press release, Nixon says he has been extremely active during his 1st term as a District Councillor serving on several Advisory Committees as well as the Recreation Commission and Library Board. He has also been the Council appointee to the GVRD’s Labour Relations Bureau for 3 years and the Lower Mainland Treaty Advisory Committee for the past 2 years.
