Rider alerts for UBC buses, the 135, and New West Station, Jan 29 and 31, 2011

A couple of key transit updates have crossed my desk. Spread these around if you know people who might be affected!

Saturday, Jan 29, 2011: one entrance to New Westminster Station will be closed for the day

The McNeely Street entrance/exit to New Westminster SkyTrain Station will be closed all day Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011. This is to allow for concrete pouring for the Plaza 88 development.

It’s expected the entrance will re-open in time for the start of service on Sunday, Jan. 30.

Monday, Jan 31, 2011: The 135 will now stop at Burrard and Pender, and the University Village bus stop is temporarily closed

For the 135: Starting Monday January 31, 2011, the 135 service will be stopping at the bus stop at Burrard and Pender (50032), as a result of the closure of a bus stop at Hastings and Hornby Street (50033).

For UBC buses (4, 9, 17, 99, 258, N17): To accommodate roadwork, we are temporarily relocating a busy bus stop at UBC for about one week starting next Monday, January 31, 2011.

The bus stop near University Village (#50605 – University Boulevard and Allison Road) will be temporarily relocated 130 metres west to University Boulevard and the Western Parkway (or basically, one block west). Signage will be installed at at the regular stop to notify customers of this temporary change!
