McDonald to be plugged in?
Last week, The Vancouver Sun’s Vaughn Palmer reported BC Hydro Corp. president and chief executive officer Bob Elton’s departure, “sparked a round of mainly groundless speculation about successors” – including the premier’s recently departed deputy minister Jessica McDonald. But it’s worth mentioning that, when Ms. McDonald departed the civil service, one of the first rumours we heard about her future was a BC Hydro-related job. Although, at the time, it was thought that job would see her reviewing rather than running the Crown corporation. Still, we thought it was worth getting Energy, Mines and Petroleum Minister Blair Lekstrom’s reaction to that rumour. And here’s what he had to say on Wednesday.
